Priority of HumansA few years ago the idea of using operating systems with graphic user interfaces as a base for commercial programs had been considered ridiculous by many people. A frequently heard opinion was that e.g. a bookkeeping program had to be displayed at a monochrome display (best green-black) with as few assistance as possible for the user.
We decided very early to go a different way. The importance of the user must be placed over those of the computer. Our products were developed with the help of our customers, who taught us by their practice-oriented knowledge the natural operational sequences in the individual areas.

Symbols speak for themselvesThese considerations led us very early in the direction of graphic user interfaces. Unfortunately at this time neither computers nor programs were developed in such a way that they could be used in daily operation. The idea remained and in the meantime at least the operational sequences were transferred.
Under Windows 3.1 it was possible for the first time to write applications that would work in day to day office life. As the development takes place under Windows NT, we realized what operating systems are being capable of and decided to take Windows 95 as target platform. By the time of the official presentation of Windows 95 our products were not only finished but also tested and stable.
Whatever new operating systems may be named, for sure there will be versions of SiTec products before the operating systems are published.

C++: Sweet RecompensesThere is a multiplicity of more or less comfortable development systems for software. At the beginning there was the programming language C. We went through a hard time with the programming of Windows 2 and 3 and were finally rewarded.
Today the preliminary work is our most important know-how in programming. C++ with its object-orientated features is a perfect development platform for Windows.
The result: equal efficient development of the programs as in more highly integrated languages with more flexible, more stable and faster code. |
